Apple Cider Doughnuts

​INGREDIENTS

DOUGHNUTS

  • 1 and 1/2 cups Sauk Farm Apple Cider

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour leveled

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 large egg, at room temperature

  • 1/2 cup packed light or dark brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup  granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup milk, at room temperature

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

GLAZE

  • 1 and a 1/2 cups Sauk Farm Apple Cider

  • 1 teaspoon Sauk Farm Apple Powder

  • 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 2 tablespoons butter

DIRECTIONS 

  • Reduce 1 1/2 cups Apple Cider to 1/2 cup for about 20 minutes on the stove with occasional stirring.

  • Preheat oven to 350F and grease doughnut pans.

  • Melt butter.

  • Mix sugars, butter, egg, vanilla, milk and reduced apple cider in a bowl.

  • Mix powders together, add to liquid mixture, mix until well combined.

  • Spoon onto greased doughnut pans, cook for approx 11 minutes. 

  • While doughnuts are cooking, reduce another 1 1/2 cups Apple Cider to 1/2 cup on the stove. 

  • Let doughnuts cool for 10 minutes.

  • Remove cider from stovetop, and put in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of butter. Mix.

  • Mix cider, butter, powdered sugar and apple powder together until mixed. 

  • Drizzle all over the doughnuts. ENJOY!
