PROCESSING LEAD (2021)

The processing lead assists in coordinating all aspects of processing including set-up, pre and post sanitation, equipment operation, and labor management, and is under the supervision of the Operations Manager at SAUK FARM LLC.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma / GED is required. Previous experience in food processing is highly recommended. Employees will also receive on the job training necessary to preform required tasks by the Operations Manager.

ABILITIES

  • Multilimb Coordination – the ability to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting, standing, or lying down.

  • Manual Dexterity – The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your tow hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

  • Speech Recognition – The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.

  • Physical Stamina and Strength – The ability to exert your body over a long duration of time and the ability to exert a high physical intensity.

  • Rate Control – The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object.

SKILLS

  • Operation Monitoring – watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

  • Operation and Control – controlling operations of equipment or systems.

  • Active Listening – giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

  • Speaking – Talking to others to convey information effectively.

  • Coordination – Adjust actions in relations to others’ actions.

 

DUTIES

  • General farm activities and maintenance

  • Wash and pack fruit by hand

  • Set up and prepare workstations prior to workers arriving

  • Coordinate workflow of employees during processing activities

  • Maintain established quality and food safety standards 

  • Direct the processing of raw fruits into various value-added products

  • Direct the co-processing of other farms goods into value added products

  • Equipment Maintenance

    1. Clean and inspect equipment as instructed

    2. Assist the Operations Manager with equipment maintenance

  • Building Maintenance

    1. Keep barns clean and clear of debris. Includes vacuuming and sweeping when indicated.

  • Cleaning and maintaining the Ag workshop 

    1. Kitchen/bathroom cleaning log (weekly).

    2. All processing logs depending on activities scheduled for the day as indicated in the Food Safety Plan.

  • Follow SAUK FARM established policies as outlined in the Employee Manual, GMP, Food Safety Plan, and any other polices not listed here.


 

COMPENSATION

$16+ per hour depending on experience level and qualifications. Paid sick leave (1 hour accrued per 40 hours worked). Free and discounted produce from the farm.

 

PRODUCTION CREW (2021)

 

Farmworkers maintain the quality of the farm, crops, buildings, and labor under  the supervision of the Operations Manager at SAUK FARM LLC.

High school diploma strongly recommended but not necessary. Food Handlers  Permit is required for processing activities. Employees will receive on the job  training necessary to preform required tasks by the Operations Manager.

• Assist with trellis installation  

• Maintain posts, wires, and bamboo 

• Prune and train trees and vines (Winter and Summer)

SEASONAL WORK ASSOCIATE (2021)

Seasonal workers assist in the harvest, packing, and processing of crops for the months of September-November. Workers also maintain the quality of the farm, crops, and buildings under the supervision of the Operations Manager at SAUK FARM LLC During the months of December-August.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma strongly recommended but not necessary. Employees will receive on the job training necessary to preform required tasks by the Operations Manager. 

Able to follow all CDC and Washington State guidelines for safe workplaces during COVID-19 pandemic -- wearing mask/face covering for entire shift except when on break or working independently at a safe distance from others, regular facility sanitizing, wearing gloves and following strict food safety guidelines when handling food products. PPE is provided.

    •  Ag workshop cleaning log (as necessary by visual inspection).

    • All processing logs depending on activities scheduled for the day as determined by the Operations Manager.

PAY

 $13.50 - $15 per hour depending on experience level and qualifications
